Obituary of Donald E. Collibee

Donald E. Collibee, 58, of Peabody, died early Saturday Morning at his residence after a 10 month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Lorraine M. (Moreau) Collibee with whom he shared 37 years of marrige. He was born in Everett on October 22, 1944, the son of Dorothy (Elvey) Collibee of Salem and the late Herbert S. Collibee Sr and moved to Salem at the age of 5 residing there before moving to Peabody 33 years ago., He was a graduate of Salem High School in 1962 and was a member of the Golf Team. He had been a machinist at the General Electric Co. Riverworks plant in Lynn for 34 years retiring 5 years ago. He was a sports Enthusiast playing golf with the Sports Haven Golf League in Salem, and a member of the Maple Leafs Touch Football Team in Salem. He also managed and played in the Salem Softball League and was a recipient of many unsung hero awards. He was an avid Gardener and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. Surviving him beside his wife and mother are 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Donald E. and Lisa Collibee of Kingston, NH and Scott E. and Jessica Collibee of Averill Park, NY, a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert S. and Carol Collibee and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Michael Mc Carthy all of Peabody; 5 grandchildren, William, Christopher and Courtney Collibee of Kingston, NY and Isaac and Alana Collibee of Averill Park, NY and many nieces and Nephews. A Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility followed by Services in Grace Episcopal Church, Essex St., Salem at 10:00 A.M. Visiting hours on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Hospice of No. Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma. 01923 in his Memory.
