Obituary of Theresa M. "Teddy" (Marmen) Claise
Theresa M. “Teddy” (Marmen) Claise 93, of Salem, wife of the late Louis Paul Claise, passed away at the Grosvenor Park Health Center in Salem on Thursday, February 9, 2017 with her loving and caring family at her side. Teddy was born in St. Honoré Quebec Canada on May 11, 1923 daughter of Demetrius J. and Marie E (Couturier) Marmen. Raised and educated at the Académie Ste Chrétienne in Salem she was a lifelong resident of the city. Teddy, as a talented seamstress began her working career teaching sewing in the Salem School system for 5 years. After raising her family she returned to work at Mahan’s and later as a clerk at Country Curtains in Salem a position which she held for 30 years. She dedicated her life to creating a home for her family and she was so proud of her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her door was always opened to her children’s friends and family members. Teddy is survived by a son and his wife, Ronald P. and Marilyn Claise of Lexington; her 2 daughters, Donna L. Talbot and Diane M. Tremblay both of Salem; her grandchildren and their spouses, James Talbot, Christopher and Kimberly Talbot, Brian and Ann Marie Claise, Paul and Jennifer Tremblay, Amy Tremblay, Peter and Hanieh Claise, Matthew Claise, and Elizabeth Claise and Gavin McKenna; her great grandchildren, Andrea and Jimmy Talbot, Mason Tremblay, Nick Hart, Mikaela, Camden, Hallie and Nathan Talbot, and Arian Claise; her siblings, Georgette Michaud of Salem and Pauline Nappi of FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother Jean Marmen and Francis Marmen. Teddy’s Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 3rd at 10 a.m. at Ste Anne Church, 292 Jefferson Avenue, Salem, followed by her committal of ashes at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 226 North St., Salem. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Grosvenor Park Activities Program, 7 Loring Hills Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
