Obituary of Lillian M. Deveney

Lillian M. Deveney, 88, beloved wife of the late Robert P. Deveney, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16th at the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born in Lebanon, New Hampshire, she is the daughter of the late Timothy and Lillian Brooks. Lillian grew up in Lebanon and was a graduate of Lebanon High School. She moved to Saugus with her husband to raise their family and was a resident of Peabody for the past 18 years. Lillian worked for over 30 years for Sears as a manager until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Saint Adelaide’s Church in West Peabody. Lillian enjoyed being in her garden, music and most of all being with her family. She will be truly missed. She is survived by her sister: June Andersen of Southbridge; two grandchildren: Brian Andersen and his wife Laura of Fiskdale and Patrick Dolan and his wife Theresa of Georgia, along with six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter: Nancy Dolan,her granddaughter Kimberly Kocur, and her siblings: Harold, Earl, Roger and Leon Brooks and Hazel Brooks and Kay Deveney. Visiting hours will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody on Monday from 10 – 11 am. A funeral mass will follow at Saint Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell Street, Peabody at 11:30 A.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lillian’s Memory to Sarah Harwood for Clearbridge Activities at Eddy Pond West.
