Obituary of John Joseph Morris
John J. Morris, 86, beloved husband of Margaret (Levy) Morris, passed away on Wednesday, March 1st at Essex Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly after a brief illness. Born in Salem, he is the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Kelleher) Morris. John grew up in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. John served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the Army. For 25 years, he worked as an electrical vacuum technician for Varian Associates in Beverly until his retirement. John was an avid football fan, he enjoyed having a cup of coffee, telling jokes and being an all around handyman. He loved his dogs and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Margaret, he is survived by four daughters: Maureen Morris of Peabody, Kathleen Morris of Arizona, Patricia Ameral of New Hampshire and Cheryl Anderson and her significant other Dave Ferragamo of Middleton; one sister: Barbara Putnam of New Hampshire, six grandchildren: Briana, Matthew, Patrick, Jesse, Chloe and Kera; two great grandchildren: Mason and Lexi; four nephews: Jimmy, Johnny, Stephen and Billy; dear friends: Chet Dzielnik of Peabody and Barbara Tardiff and her late husband Henry of Lynn; and John’s family would like to send a special thank you to Steve Leo of Burlington. He is predeceased by his brother Joseph Morris. A Funeral Service will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody on Monday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 12pm-3pm. Burial will be held privately.
