Obituary of Edward O. "Ed" McFeeters Sr
Edward O. “Ed” McFeeters Sr. 56, of Revere, formerly of Beverly, passed away unexpectedly from complications due to a sudden physical illness. Ed was born in Cherry Hill, NJ on July 3rd, 1960. He attended Pennsauken, NJ schools, graduating from Pennsauken High in 1978. Ed also attended North Shore Community College. Sadly, Ed Sr. struggled for many years with mental illness. His affliction was very challenging, not only to himself, but to those who knew him and loved him. Like most suffering with this difficult disease, Ed despised being “labeled”, because the “labeling” associated with these illnesses creates an added negative dimension. Ed and his family believes that no one should ever be marginalized/diminished as an individual simply because one is unwell with mental illness, (we don't do this with other diseases) but typically, this is the usual response, only making it that much harder to overcome this extremely difficult life challenge. Ed loved his son Ed Jr. very much, sharing many wonderful memories over the years, before the unpredictable illness became a great enemy to his mind. Ed also loved his estranged wife Brenda – of 28 years – as well, and she too loved him, despite the illness which sadly drove them apart. Ed Sr. loved nature, animals, playing his guitar, and talking politics. He also was a wonderful cook, as well as an excellent untrained artist. Most importantly, Ed had a great love for God and his Savior Jesus Christ. May Ed Sr. - father, husband, son, and friend finally be at peace and rest on the other side. . In addition to his son, Ed Jr. and wife Brenda, Ed is survived by his siblings and spouses – Bill McFeeters, Mark and Diane McFeeters, Jimmy McFeeters, Tommy McFeeters, Adele and Bill Schaefer, and Frannie McFeeters, and a brother in law, Larry Delp, all of NJ; his father in law and mother in law – Alan and Pat Barteaux of Peabody, sister in law and husband – Audrey and Scott Marble of Beverly, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his parents – William and Marion (Keggereis) McFeeters and a sister, Marion Delp. His family will receive relatives and friends on March 10, 2017 from 10 to 12pm followed by his Celebration of Life service from 12 to 1pm in the Conway-Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Teen Challenge, Brockton, Ma (tcnewengland.org). Please visit www.ccbfuneral.com for directions, online obituary, and memorial guest book.
