Obituary of Elizabeth Vorrias

Elizabeth (Angelopoulos) Vorrias, 90, of Peabody, died peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday evening at the Care One Nursing Home in Peabody. She was the devoted wife of the late Leonidas C Vorrias. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Evangeline (Bentas) Angelopoulos. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church. After high school, Elizabeth was employed at GTE Sylvania in Danvers as an assembler and upon her marriage to her husband she stayed home to raise her children. Elizabeth and Leo appreciated the simpler things in life, enjoying over 60 loving years of marriage together. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, shopping, and dining out, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Elizabeth is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Nancy Vorrias of Peabody, Charles and Laura Vorrias or Boxford, and Anthony and Teresa Vorrias of Peabody, her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Thomas Schreib of Peabody, her brother, Soterios “Terry” Angelopoulos of Lynn and is also survived by her beloved nine grandchildren, Ashley, Andrea, Krystina, Heather, Tyler, Leo, Adriana, Elaina, Theodore, and two great grandchildren Alexander and Caiden, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Gregory and John Angelopoulos, Marcella Corbett, and Connie Ahearn. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Paleologos St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
