Obituary of Nathan "Nate" J. Dunne
Nathan “Nate” J. Dunne PEABODY – Nathan J. “Nate” Dunne, 46, beloved husband of Michelle “Shelly” (Mugnano) Dunne, died on Thursday March 9, 2017 at the Lahey Hospital Medical Center in Burlington, following a second battle with cancer. Born in Boston, he was the son of Anne Marie (Byrne) Dunne and the late James Dunne. He grew up in West Roxbury, and graduated from Don Bosco High School. He then studied Electronics at Massasoit Junior College. Mr. Dunne was a Network and Support Engineer with Sonos for the last two years. He was an employee of 10 years for IBM in the Bedford and Littleton locations, he also worked for Bay Networks/Nortel Networks, and with Axio Wave. Nate lived life fully with a wide variety of interests. As a musician he was drawn to sing, as well as play both the Bass and Guitar, he shared in multiple bands with his wife and close friends. He was also a local sound engineer. He enjoyed working with cars and doing mechnics work at home with his son. He enjoyed the outdoors as a Semi-Pro Paint Ball Player. He also enjoyed biking and roller blading with his wife and son. He was devoted to caring for children, and shared in taking the neighborhood kids to school mornings. As a mentor, he was a coach for his sons hockey league, and was a DCF Foster Parent for a period of time. He was a special person who was cherished by many, and will be dearly missed by those privileged to know him. Many may all be sad because of a life ended too soon, and also grateful that they found a way to be touched in his short, charmed life. He is survived by his wife Michelle “Shelly” (Mugnano) Dunne of Peabody, with whom he cherished a 19 year relationship and 15 years of marriage; a son Christian Nathan Dunne of Peabody; his mother Anne Marie (Byrne) Dunne of West Roxbury; sisters, Emily Bisaga Dunne and her husband Walter of West Roxbury, and Kate Duckworth and her husband Neal of Dedham; his in-law family, mother & father-in-law Joseph & Diane Mugnano of Peabody; Gina Manfra & her husband Jerry and Joelle Bornstein & her husband Dana all of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday March 17, 2017, at 9:30 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
