Obituary of Ruth E. (Pierce) Linehan

Ruth E. (Pierce) Linehan 86, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late James F. Linehan Sr., passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home. Ruth was born in Peabody on July 8, 1930 daughter of Philip and Sarah Marie (Doherty) Pierce. Raised and educated in Peabody she graduated from Peabody High School in 1948 and was a lifelong resident. Ruth was a loving mother who dedicated her entire life to creating a home for family and later she was so proud of her granddaughters and their accomplishments. Ruth is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James F. and Janis Linehan Jr. of Merrimac, MA, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Steve Wilson of Peabody and Janice and Glen Gaspar of Providence, RI, her cherished grandchildren, Shannon Wilson, Hannah Linehan and Kaylie Linehan; a sister, Elizabeth Carter of Newburyport, her 9 nieces and nephews and many friends. She was also predeceased by her brother Philip Pierce. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. from the funeral home on Friday, March 17th, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody.
