Obituary of Janice E. (Hawkins) Lane
Janice E. (Hawkins) Lane, 55 PEABODY – Janice E. (Hawkins) Lane, 55, beloved wife of John J. Lane, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday March 10, 2017. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Jacqueline (Bagge) Hawkins and the late Kenneth Hawkins. Janice grew up in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1979. She attended Salem State College, and lived in Amesbury for the last 25 years. Ms. Lane pursued a career as a Fashion Model for almost 15 years before focusing on nurturing her family as a devoted mother, wife and friend to many. She worked with Michelle Pommier in Miami, , Elite in New York, and the Models Group of Boston, and enjoyed travel around the world. Janice had a very gracious and generous, giving spirit. She loved working in her garden in addition to creating an amazing home environment, and will forever be remembered as a special wife and cherished mother. She loved animals, especially her Golden Retriever dogs. She made a lasting difference in her short life, for which those who knew her are grateful and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband John J. Lane of Amesbury, with whom she enjoyed 28 years of marriage; two sons and a daughter, Andrew J. Lane, Aimee R. Lane, and Adam E. Lane all of Amesbury; her mother, Jacqueline Hawkins of Salem; three brothers, Steven Hawkins of Salem, David Hawkins & his wife Katherine of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Jeffrey Hawkins & his wife Mary of Middleton; her mother—in-law Lucille Lane of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
