Obituary of Teresa "Babe" J. (DeOrio) McCorry

Teresa J. “Babe” (DeOrio) McCorry PEABODY – Teresa J. “Babe” (DeOrio) McCorry, 94, beloved wife of the late John J. McCorry, Sr., died peacefully on Monday March 27, 2017 at the Rosewood Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody, following an extended illness. Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Jennie (Palermo) DeOrio. She grew up there and graduated from Revere High School. She lived in Peabody for over 50 years. Mrs. McCorry was a hard working woman that not only nurtured her family, she worked at numerous jobs. She worked mostly in the cafeteria for the Peabody Public Schools. Teresa loved family gatherings, and cooking was a passion of hers. Many just could not get enough of her meatballs or banana bread. She was a longtime communicant at St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody, and a Past President of the Ladies Auxilliary with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Mottola Post in Revere. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, John McCorry and his companion Kateri Noone of Peabody; Bruce McCorry and longtime companion Sandra LaRosa of Middleton, and Carol Anastos and her husband William of Revere; five grandchildren, Gina & Bob Noftle, Tania & Alex Case all of Revere, Erica Sousa & Gene Sousa of North Reading and Tiffany McCorry of Peabody; five great-grandchildren, Jake, Kyle, Nicole, Tiah, Matthew, and Curtis; two great-great-grandchildren Braden and Julian, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Gary McCorry and granddaughter Alisha Anastos. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday March 31, 2017 at 9:30 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
