Obituary of Barbara N. Drinan

Barbara N. Drinan, 80 Peabody- Mrs. Barbara N. Drinan, 80, of Peabody, passed away at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was the sweetheart of William Drinan, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Barbara was born in Boston, MA on April 7, 1936, daughter of the late Peter and Josephine (Vetro) Costagliola. She was raised and educated there before marrying her husband William in 1957. They settled down in Peabody, where they would raise their four children. Prior to her retirement, Barbara worked as a merchandiser for Goodwill Industries in Peabody. Barbara was outgoing and adventurous, she enjoyed going out to eat, having pool parties, singing and ballroom dancing with her husband, loved traveling to places such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City, but her favorite place was the Bahamas. She enjoyed and made the best out of life, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Besides her loving husband, William, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Diane Drinan of Hampton Falls, NH, Barbara Drozewski & her husband Bob of Peabody, William Drinan Jr. & his fiancé Lisa Kane of Falmouth, MA, Michael Drinan & his wife Amy of Lynn; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass in St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody at 10:30 AM.
