Obituary of Vasilios E Frangias

Vasilios E. Frangias, 86, of Lynn, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Ioanna Frangias with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Amaliatha, Elias, Greece, he was the son of the late Eftihios and Maria Frangias. He immigrated to the United States with his wife and children, and has lived in Lynn of the past 38 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all. Vasilios is survived by his children, Evangelos and his wife Panagiota Frangias of Peabody, Maria and her husband Nick Koufos of Arlington, Stefanos and his wife Haritomeni Frangias of Peabody, Dionisia Frangias of Burlington, and Eftihios Frangias of Lynn; his siblings, Leonidas and Stathoula. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Joanna Koufos, Joanna Frangias, Marianna Frangias, Vasilios Frangias, Chrisovalantis Frangias, Dennis Koufos, Vasili Frangias, and Joanne Frangias. He was predeceased by his siblings, Spiros, Georgios, Nicholaos, and Dionisia. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 9:30 until 11:00 AM, followed by the Funeral Service at Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St, Peabody. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Donations in Vasilios’ memory may be made to Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church.
