Obituary of Marilyn R. (Falkingham) Ricciardi

Marilyn (Falkingham) Ricciardi PEABODY – Marilyn (Falkingham) Ricciardi, 89, of West Hartford, CT, beloved wife of Robert Ricciardi, died on Sunday April 2, 2017 peacefully at her second home, West Hartford Health and Rehabilitation. Born July 30, 1927 in Lynn, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lois (Alley) Falkingham, she lived most of her life in Peabody where she grew up, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1946. She married Robert at St. Ann's Church and raised her three daughters. Marilyn briefly worked at General Electric in Lynn where she met Robert. She loved being the consummate "Mom" by being a scout leader, "taxi driver" to the neighborhood kids, great baker of whoopie pies and learned how to cook Italian food from her husband. Her hobbies and life's passion were handicrafts like knitting, crocheting and sewing, and she has been an inspiration to her family and friends. She would hand out crocheted pins, along with a smile, to everyone she met. ln addition to her husband, Robert with whom she shared 67 years of marriage, Marilyn leaves behind her daughters, Cheryl Ricciardi of Lake Forest, CA, Cynthia Welch and her husband Mark of West Hartford, CT and Marilyn Ricciardi and her husband Ken Shirey of Sunnyvale, CA. Marilyn loved her two granddaughters, Kristina and Hayley, very much and kept a special place in her heart for her step-granddaughters and step great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, and was the last living from a family of six siblings. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday April 8, 2017 for a visitation from 10 – 11:30 A.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
