Obituary of Josephine "Keni" Witham

Josephine “Keni” (Liston) Witham, 94, of Beverly and formerly of Boxford and Peabody, died Friday March 31 at the Herrick House in Beverly following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Harrison Witham. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Naum and Tatiana (Hancharook) Liston. She was raised and educated in Peabody, later lived in Boxford for 40 years and has lived in Beverly for the past four years. Upon her graduation from high school, Keni was employed in the banking industry as a bookkeeper for over 50 years before retiring form Danvers Savings Bank many years ago. Keni enjoyed spending time with her family at her camp at Balch Lake in New Hampshire. She especially enjoyed water skiing and was famous for going around the lake with 1 ski. She also enjoyed snow skiing, painting as well as knitting and sewing for her family and friends. Keni is survived by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frank Liston, Anna Laverty, Mary Lewis, and Esther Hudson. The family would like to thank the staff at the Herrick House for their compassionate care and professionalism these past 4 yours as well the staff of Care Dimensions. They are deeply grateful. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody.
