Obituary of Angela M. (Raffenello) Moroni

Angela M. (Raffenello) Moroni 93 years of Peabody, wife of the late Faust Moroni, died unexpectedly Sunday at the Salem Hospital. Mrs. Moroni was born May 17, 1910 in Naples, Italy daughter of the late Benjamin and Catherine Raffenello. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 5 and resided in Salem for few years. She then moved to Peabody where she has resided for most of life. Mrs. Moroni was employed for 45 years as a leather worker in Peabody retiring in 1971 from the Ideal Finishing Leather Company. She was a member of the AFL-CIO Leather Workers Union and a member of the Salem Sons of Italy. She loved to cook for her family and even for strangers. Mrs. Moroni is survived by a son and his wife, Faust Spike Moroni Jr. and Joan Moroni, of Beverly; 2 daughters, Jean J. Moroni and her companion Marty DeBenedictis and Lorraine M. Lulu and her husband Eugene Call all of Peabody; a brother and his wife, Patrick and Mimi Raffenello of Beverly; a sister and her husband, Mary and Donald Keller of Peabody; 4 grandchildren, Debra Auld of Beverly, Lisa Martinello, Nathan and Brandon Call all of Peabody; 3 great grandchildren, Christopher, Hayly and Cole and several nieces and nephews. She was also pre deceased by her daughter Catherine Moroni on September 19, 2003 and a brother John Raffenello. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location (978.531.0472) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.
