Obituary of Theresa H. (Mazurkiewicz) Freeman

Theresa H. (Mazurkiewicz) Freeman PEABODY – Theresa H. (Mazurkiewicz) Freeman, beloved wife of James Freeman, died peacefully Saturday April 8, 2017 at her home, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Genowefa (Krajewski) Mazurkiewicz. She grew up in Salem, and graduated from St. Mary’s Girls High School in Lynn. She lived in Peabody for the last 65 years. Mrs. Freeman worked as a Sales Clerk at Caldor’s Department Store in Salem. Theresa was a longtime communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality, and also Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed spending time with the Peabody Golden Agers, and at the Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody. Her passion was her dedication to her family, and always enjoyed social gatherings with them. She is survived by her husband James Freeman of Peabody, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage; two sons, James Freeman of East Boston and Donald Freeman of Tewksbury; a daughter, Elaine Woolaver of Essex; two grandchildren, Mary Woolaver O'Neill of Beverly and Matthew Woolaver of Peabody, and five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by her brothers Edmund Mazurkiewicz and Joseph Mazurkiewicz. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday April 12, 2017 from 10 – 11:30 A.M in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the funeral home.
