I was so very sorry to hear of Uncle Dick's passing. I fully realise that he lived a long life and yes..there is thanks in that. BUT..I think that when we lose a man that is a "man's man" a man that was tough and tender, who stood tall and strong when called on...and gentle and protective when needed...and intelligent to know the difference. That is the mark of a true man. They seem to have faded away with the tide of time.Or,maybe I am an old girl who still can remember the difference. I didn't know Uncle Dick well...but in the few times we shared company...it was easy for me to tell what style of fellow he was...and I say...I wish our world had more just like him. That is why his passing is a real loss.To Aunt Hazel...you choose a real character years ago,and you have had such a voyage together, that only you and Dick will truly know. You heart is broken...hold onto to your broken heart...for he lives there. To cousins Tammy,John and Micheal...I can well imagine what it was like growing up in the home of a man that was so "John Wayne"like. Quite a tower to look up to..I can imagine the challenge...but also the pride.Remember you are made from his blood...he will forever be with you. My deepest condolence and respect. Jane (aka...Little Amy)

We wish to extend our condolences at this sad time for your family. Due to distance we did not have an opportunity to share "in-law" experiences with John's parents but I (Ann) did get to know both Dick and Hazel better while staying with Holli and the girls at the camp for two summers years ago. Dick was pretty much the life of the party and I like a good party! Thanks for the memories. RIP SMSGT "Hoppy" Hopkins.

My Condolences to your family.

I met 'Dick' only a few times and therefore cannot say I really knew him; what I can say was he was a true gentleman who loved his family. He enjoyed life and had a wonderful sense of humour. I actually witnessed his quick wit and his joy of life during my visit to attend a family wedding with my sister Jane a few years ago. I remember he and Jane enjoying a dance together during the reception. I'm grateful I met him even though it was for a very short time.

Regardless of their age, when a parent dies our world changes forever. Reading Dick's obituary tells the story of a man who gave so much ,to so many, for his entire life. Your family has so much to miss.

May your memories stay with you forever. May you always smile when you remember the happy times and let your tears flow whenever they need to.

Deep Condolences ...to Hazel and her family.
So sorry for your loss...

Sanie ( Amy's daughter )
