Obituary of Jacqueline Xindaris
Jacqueline (Olive) Xindaris, 93, of Peabody, died early Thursday morning at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles S Xindaris. Born in Chantilly, France, she was the daughter of the late Gaston and Helen (Dupont) Olive. She was raised and educated in France and has lived in Peabody for the past 70 years. Jacqueline met her husband Charles in Paris, France during WWII while he was stationed with the United States Army. He simply stopped and asked her for directions and as the story goes they fell in love and were soon married at Paris City Hall on March 15, 1946. Upon her marriage to Charles she soon arrived in the United States at Ellis Island aboard the SS Goethald, a ship that transported war brides from all over Europe. While living in France, she was employed as an accountant with the French Government in the Treasury Department and upon her arrival in the United States, she was employed with husband, Charles S Xindaris, CPA in Salem for many years. She later worked for meals on wheels in Salem and finally retired from the accounting office at North Shore Community College Danvers campus. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country and the world and was a member of the War Bride Association. She is survived by her niece and nephews, John Pashby and Kimberley her very special care giver and friend, Robert, and James Pashby, Gail Derrivan, and Steven Xindaris, her cousins, Mary Koutsos and Kay Bulgaris, and her dear friend, Faye Gardner of Danvers. Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by her two sons, Philip and Steven Xindaris, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen and Arthur Bulgaris, James Xindaris, Christopher and Eva Xindaris, Robert and Alice Pashby, and Pericles and Mildred Xindaris, and her nephew, Michael Bulgaris. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
