Obituary of Robert P. Manning

Robert P Manning, 51, of Peabody and formerly of Braintree, died Tuesday evening at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston following a courageous nine-month battle against cancer. He was the devoted husband of Patricia (Gill) Manning with whom he shared over 20 years of marriage. Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Leo and Dorothy (Connolly) Manning. He was raised and educated in Braintree and was a graduate of Blue Hill Vocational School, class of 1983. He was lived in Peabody for the past 18 years. Robert was employed with the MBTA as an electrician for the past 11 years and was a member of Local 103 as well. He enjoyed boating and was a long-time member of the Colony Yacht Club in Dorchester. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son Bobby Manning and his daughter Ann Manning, both of Peabody, his two brothers, Leo Manning, III of Weymouth and Stephen Manning of Plymouth, his four sisters, Elizabeth Sullivan of Braintree, Dorothy Rose of Topsfield, Barbara Manning of Braintree, and Susan Sayers of Kingston. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Downtown Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at 20 Church St, downtown Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
