Obituary of Dr. Nicholas Constantin Darzenta

Dr. Nicholas Constantin Darzenta, 93, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2017. He was a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine until his retirement. He was a longtime resident of, and member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in, Peabody, MA, prior to his retirement in Virginia, where he was a member of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church. Dr. Darzenta was preceded in death by his parents, the late Constantin Darzenta and the late Irene Noitakis, as well as his brothers, George and Gerasimo Darzenta, and sister Thekla Mavromatis. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sister Markella Xerras; son Constantin Darzenta and daughter-in-law Janice; daughter Irene Darzenta Tzafolias and son-in-law Constantine; and four grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas, Iliana and Mia. Viewing is scheduled for 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 13, followed by liturgical services at 9:00 a.m., at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody, MA.
