Obituary of Anthony J. Russo

Anthony J. Russo, 80, of Salem MA and formerly of Peabody, MA died Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers with his family at his side after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Rita M. (Hogan) Russo. He was born in Someville, MA on June 23, 1936, the son of the late Natale and Maria (Donadio) Russo and was raised and educated there. He had resided in Peabody for 30 years before moving to Salem 17 years ago. Anthony had been a co-0wner of the Russo Tux Shops in Chelsea and Cambridge for 29 years and later was the proprietor of the Royal Taylor and Cleansers in Everett for 18 years prior to his retirement 15 years ago. Anthony enjoyed watching the Red Sox and going to the Seabrook NH Dog Track. He and his family loved spending the summers at the Chase Ocean Grove in Dennisport. Anthony had served in the Massachusetts National Guard for 6 years prior to his discharge in 1962. He is survived by his wife of 60 years of marriage; a daughter, Dyanne M. Linehan of Peabody, his sons, David A. and his wife Sara Russo of Somerville and Brian M. Russo of Salem, his cherished grandchildren, Vanessa and Cameron Linehan and Bryce and Patrick Russo, a sister, Mary Gagliardi of Somerville and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Amando, Dominic, Michaelangelo and Josephine Russo, Theresa Daddario and Gennie Caizzi. A Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 9:30 from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide's Church, 708 Lowell St., West Peabody at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
