Obituary of Robert N. Pellegrini

Robert N. Pellegrini PEABODY – Robert N. Pellegrini, 92, died peacefully on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at the Care One at Essex Park in Beverly, while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Michael and Teresa (Pace) Pellegrini. He grew up there and graduated from Beverly High School. He lived in Peabody for many years. Mr. Pellegrini served in the State Guard, which preceded the Massachusetts National Guard. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served his patriotic duty during World War II, as part of our Greatest Generation. He was a radio operator, and also piloted the high speed P.T. Boat used in the Rescue Squadron in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a Draftsman with the General Electric in Lynn for many years, and served as a Union Steward for many years during his career. Robert enjoyed spending time on Winter Island in Salem. He also enjoyed his volunteer time at Salem Hospital. He was proud of the country and had a strong-willed spirit. He is survived by two sons and a daughter, Ronald Pellegrini of Gloucester, Gary Pellegrini of Quincy, and Jan Pellegrini of Gloucester; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister Minerva Danda of Danvers, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Gene Pellegrini and sister Josephine Tirabassi. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday May 19, 2017 from 11:30 AM – 12:45 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:45 P.M. in the funeral home.
