Obituary of Katherine Athena (Drillis) Kostopoulos

Katherine A. (Drillis) Kostopoulos, 79, of Peabody died peacefully on Friday, May 19th at the NSMC Salem Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Paul Kostopoulos. She was born in Salem MA on January 5, 1938, the daughter of the late Daniel and Harriett (Kouris) Drillis and had resided in Peabody most of her life. Katherine was a member of St. Vasilios Church and enjoyed cooking and making meals for her family gatherings. Her most cherished time was spent with her family and her 13 grandchildren who affectionally called her their “Ya-Ya”. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Renee Kostopoulos of Salem, four daughters, Kathy and her husband Constantine Kalogianis of Danvers, Angela and her husband Thomas Mansell, Denise and her husband James Pashby and Nikki Carbone all of Peabody; a brother George Drillis of Peabody, two sisters, Gail Mantsourani of Peabody and Jeanne Connolly of Beverly, her grandchildren, Elaina, Paul, Peter, Krystin and Jennifer, Paul and Michael, Katie and Courtney and Nicholas, Christopher and Alexander, and Nicole Steeves and her husband Emil; her precious eight great grandchildren, Katrina, Rebecca, Ava, Sophia, Isabela, Johnathan, Emil Jr. and Madeline, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Nicholas Drillis. A Visitation will be held on Monday, May22, at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. A Service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 1:15 PM at the family lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
