Obituary of Ernest G Hussey

Ernest G. Hussey, 75, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Saturday evening at the Lahey Clinic Peabody after being stricken at home. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Bouras) Hussey. Born in Lynn, He was the son of the late Daniel and Minnie (Hussey) Hussey. He was raised and educated in Lynn and has spent the last 48 years living in Peabody. He was a veteran of WWII who served with the United States Army. Prior to his retirement many years ago, he worked at GTE Sylvania in Danvers as machinist and Shop Steward for over 40 years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of GTE as well as the Franco-American War Veteran Club Post 12 in Lynn. He also enjoyed playing the part of Santa Clause for various nursing homes and other companies on the North Shore during the Holiday season. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Mary Hussey of Peabody and William Hussey of Tennessee; a daughter and son-in-law, Persephone and Roy Santos of Peabody; 2 brothers and a sister-n-law, Donald and Pat Hussey of Peabody and James Hussey of Sunnyvale, Ca; two sisters, Shirley Bailey and Melvina Anthony, both of Dedham; 3 grandchildren, Kristin Hussey, Anastacia Santos and Kristina Santos, all of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Melvin and Jimmy Hussey. His Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
