Obituary of Ernesto E. Pinto

Ernesto E. Pinto, 79, of Peabody, passed away Wednesday morning at his residence, following a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rosa (Capela) Pinto, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Vila Real, Portugal, on July 30, 1937, son of the late Manuel & Rosa (Pombal) Pinto. He was raised and educated there before moving to the United States. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the leather industry in Peabody at Bond Leather. He was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody. He had a great zest for life, whether it was enjoying his garden, making his own wine, traveling to Portugal, or just being surrounded by his family, for whom he had such a great love for. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Besides his loving wife of 52 years, his is survived by his children, Francisco Pinto and his wife Kelly of Marblehead, Tina Deschaine of Lowell, Albert Pinto of Peabody, Jaime Pinto and his wife Nicole of Beverly; his loving grandchildren, Jaclyn, Nickolas, Michael, Al Jr., Jaime, Preston, and Alana; step-grandchildren, Max and Helena Connelly; his siblings David Pinto, Alzira Marques, Maria Pinto, Clara Pinto, and Aninhas Ribeiro, and many nieces, nephews, and friends near and far. He was predeceased by his brother Fabio Pinto. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 26 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 27 from the funeral home at 8AM, followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave, Peabody at 9AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
