Obituary of Michael D Busta

Michael D Busta, 56, of Ipswich and formerly of Peabody, died Friday May 26 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, of complications from heart surgery. Born in Danvers on May 7, 1961, he was the son of Caroline “Lola” Busta of Peabody and the late William L Busta, Jr. He was raised and educated in Peabody, attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and later graduated from the Peabody Vocational School in 1979. Michael was employed with the city of Peabody for many years and retired from the Water Department, and was an excellent backhoe operator. Michael loved growing things in his garden and was passionate about his hobby of collecting, buying and selling HO model trains. He was member of St. Michael’s Society in Peabody and also enjoyed snowmobiling, the Patriots, and good food. He will be missed by all who loved him, including his favorite and loyal companion, his dog Ellie. Besides his loving mother, he leaves behind his brother Bill, his sister Kathleen, his son Jake Wilde and his former girlfriend Debbie Wilde, his nieces, Anna, Sara and her husband Brian, his nephews, Carl, Daniel and the late William L. Busta IV and his grandniece Reagan and grandnephew Christopher and also by many dear friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to either the UPO Scholarship Fund, 44 Pulaski St., Peabody, MA 01960 or the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130.
