Obituary of Brian R. Bergin

Brian R. Bergin, 66, of Bluffton, So Carolina, and formerly of Peabody, MA, died on May 20, 2017 after an illness with pulmonary Fibrosis. He was the husband of Jon Elizabeth (Hayes) Bergin with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. He was born in Melrose, MA on July 7, 1950, the son of the late Roger and Nancy (Elwell) Bergin and had resided in Peabody, MA for most of his life before moving to So. Carolina three years ago. Brian had been employed at the former Eastman Geletine Corp. of Peabody for 27 years prior to his retirement four years ago. Brian enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle in Massachusetts and in So. Carolina and was an avid New England Sport Fan watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics on TV. He also liked playing golf and he and his wife went on many cruises and enjoyed visiting England. He is survived by his wife, Jon, his daughters, Kelley Surles and Lisa Bergin both of Peabody; two step-children, Anthony Bermani of Lynn and Lisa Jones & her husband Fred of Topsfield; his siblings, Keven Bergin and his wife Robin of S.C., Jack Bergin and Jill Bergin both of Haverhill, MA, Holly and her husband John Page of S.C., Karin and her husband Anthony (A.J.) Caron of Peabody, Nancy and her husband Jamie Vaccaro of S.C., and Susan Bergin and his godchild, Peter Bergin both of Seabrook, NH, his grandchildren, Christopher, Alexandra, Baylie, Ava and Logan; his sister-in-law, Jane Bergin of Chicopee; his best friend, Richard Kulakowski of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Peter Bergin. A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery Peabody.
