Obituary of Joyce L. (Brown) Estes

Joyce L. (Brown) Estes, 61, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died Monday evening at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Oakland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen (Poulen) Brown. She was raised and educated in Maine, later lived in Salem for 23 years and has spent the last 16 years living in Peabody. She worked for a brief time as a home health aid for the VNA Hospice in Lynn. She was a family oriented woman who devoted her time and energy to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and had two doves as pets. She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Joseph Estes and Florice Vidinha, both of Peabody, Laura Estes of Troy, NH, and Catherine Estes of Peabody. She is also survived by two brothers, Lawrence Buster Brown of New Mexico and Leonard Penny Brown of Anson, ME, four sisters, Nancy Welch of Peterborough, NH, Judy Steeves of Peabody, Sandra Collins of Salem and Donna Bertoni of Peabody, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her funeral service will be held on Friday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Following cremation on Friday, burial will take place on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem
