Obituary of James G. Antonio
James G. Antonio, 58, of Framingham, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Born in Peabody on November 18, 1958, son of the late George J. and Adeena S. (Anasoulis) Antonio, he graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in 1976. At age eight, he began playing the organ at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, and continued doing so for 25 years. Following High School, he attended the Boston Conservatory of Music, where he studied classical piano performance. While raising his family, he pursued his education for technology programming at Boston University. Jim was presently employed as an Assistant Vice President Director of Global Production Supports for the TJX Company of Marlborough and Framingham. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Vice President at Sun Life Financial in Wellesley, where he was employed for 15 years. He was admired by his team for his compassionate and inspiring leadership. Jim’s greatest joy in life was music. He wrote and recorded a multitude of musical pieces, performed with the Greek-American bands Enosis and Alpha Omega, and led his beloved choir each Sunday at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Woburn. His voice and talent touched the hearts of all who knew him. Jim is survived by 2 loving sons, George J. Antonio of Washington, DC, and Dean L. Antonio of Brooklyn, NY; his siblings and their spouses, Donna Antonio-Riggs and Gary Riggs of Manchester, NH, Ellen and Thomas Thorne of South Hamilton, George and Sarah Antonio of Bridgton, ME, and Louis “Louie” Antonio of Rockledge, FL; the mother of his children, Rhea Antonio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased by his parents and his son, Stefan. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 15th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. from the funeral on Friday June 16th followed by his service at 10 a.m. at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody. The interment will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Church Organ Fund at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Woburn, MA.
