Obituary of Daryl G. Johnson

Daryl G. Johnson, 49 BRADFORD / PEABODY – Daryl G. Johnson, 49, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday June 11, 2017. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Norman and Jacqueline (Nelson) Johnson. He grew up in Peabody where he lived many years, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1986. He continued his studies at ITT Technical Institute to complete a course as a Certified Auto Mechanic. Mr. Johnson was a Master Auto Technician, and used his mechanical and technical skills well during his career. He recently was an Independent Contractor with Hunter Engineering, as he serviced the northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire areas. Daryl loved life and lived in his independent spirit. He enjoyed playing darts, on the Boo Yas Team. He was an avid football fan, and although he enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys in his youth, he rooted for the Patriots in recent years. His music taste was heavy metal, took many A.T.V. rides, hosted numerous social gatherings, and enjoyed going to his happy place on Plum Island with his daughters in his decked-out Jeep. He will be remembered for his engaging personality as he enjoyed good-natured teasing, along with a good sense of humor. He is survived by his two daughters, Brittany Johnson and Kaitlyn Johnson both of Groveland; two brothers and a sister, Dana Johnson of Fort Meyers, FL, Duane Johnson of Middleton, and Darlene Kozlovskis of Billerica, and several extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was the former husband of Pam (Ventullo) Johnson of Groveland. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday for a visitation from 4 – 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A Funeral Ceremony honoring his life will be held on Saturday June 17, 2017 at 12:30 P.M. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226 in memory of his nephew Bryan Hobart.
