Obituary of Maria (Parianos) Rouvalis

Maria S. (Parianos) Rouvalis PEABODY – Maria (Parianos) Rouvalis, 87, died peacefully Sunday morning June 18, 2017 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Stavros and Irene (Kalevakis) Parianos. She was raised and educated in Peabody, graduating from Peabody High School. She then attended the Fay Secretarial School of Boston. Mrs. Rouvalis started her career as a secretary with General Electric at the jet engine division in Lynn. She worked many years as an office manager for her brother Dr. John Parianos’ Dental Practice in Peabody, where she established a genuine, caring and kind rapport helping many of the patients. Maria was a longtime member at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society. Maria was an accomplished bowler, playing in G.E. Leagues among others and won several tournaments. She was also an avid football fan, especially the Patriots. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Steva and Edward Pierce of Peabody; two grandchildren, Michael Pierce of Nashville, TN and Bryan Pierce of Mapleton, ME; a sister-in-law Cynthia Parianos of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Dr. John Parianos, aunt of the late Stephan Parianos, and the former wife of Louis A. Rouvalis. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday June 22, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
