Obituary of Thomas J Nickerson, Jr

Thomas J Nickerson, Jr, 26, of Groveland and formerly of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Monday following a brief illness. Born in Salem, he was the son of Kelly Dixon of Brownville, ME and Thomas J. Nickerson, Sr of Groveland. He graduated high school in Hampton New Hampshire and has lived in Groveland for the past few years. Thomas played on the pop warner football team and also on the Seabrook Rec basketball team where they won the state championship. He also enjoyed watching football, UFC fighting and held a black belt in karate. Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother Benjamin Nickerson of Groveland, his dog Smokey, his aunts, Patricia Doane of FL, Georgyann Dixon of Haverhill, his uncle, George Dixon, Jr of Fryeburg, ME. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, George and Joan Dixon, and is paternal grandparents, Ferdinand and Mary Nickerson. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
