Obituary of Robert P. Bovio

Robert P. Bovio, 76 PEABODY -- Robert P. Bovio, 76, beloved husband of Gail (Murphy) Bovio, died unexpectedly at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital Monday evening June 26, 2017. Born in Stoneham, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Castronova) Bovio. He grew up and lived most of his life in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1958. Mr. Bovio worked many years as a Bridge Operator at Eastman Gelatin in Peabody. He also was a Bus Driver with Michaud Bus Lines of Salem, driving for the City of Salem Elementary Schools. Robert enjoyed watching golf and football. He was a member of the Polish Club in Danvers, and would enjoy a trip to the race track to cheer on a favorite Thoroughbred Horse. He was most passionate about his devotion to family and friends, and loved being with his grandchildren at all their activities growing up in Georgetown. He is survived by his wife Gail (Murphy) Bovio of Peabody, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; two sons, James Bovio of Peabody and David Bovio of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Peter and Alexandria Bovio of Georgetown; a brother Jim Bovio of Peabody; four sisters, Ann-Marie Comora of Danvers, Janet Scanlon of Salem, Elaine Penney of Peabody and Tina McCarthy of Peabody, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for his Funeral Service on Saturday July 1, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Cremation will follow the ceremony.
