Obituary of Neil T. Corning

Neil T. Corning, 77, of Peabody died on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the NSMC Salem Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Susan (Gonsiorawski) Corning with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was born in Ipswich, MA on February 23, 1940, the son of the late Frank and Catherine (O’Connor) Corning and was raised in Wenham. He was a graduate of Beverly High School in 1957 and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Neil had been a Quality Assurance Manager at the former United Shoe Machinery Corp., Beverly for 30 years and later worked at Harmonic Drive LLC. in Peabody for 10 years prior to his retirement. He had resided in Peabody for the past 53 years and was a member and past President of the Peabody Historical Society. Neil enjoyed classical music and had a unique collection of classical music records. He is survived by his wife Susan of Peabody, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth Corning and his wife Reneé of Dover, MA, and Patrick and Daniel Corning both of Peabody, his grandchildren, Kira and Katana Corning of Dover, a sister-in-law Barbara Miller of Hyde Park, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank and Eugene Corning and the brother-in-law of the late Ronald Gonsiorawski. A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 9:30 until 11:15 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 11:30 AM.
