Obituary of Kenneth G. Higgins

Kenneth G. Higgins, 50, died Wednesday morning at his Residence following a long illness. He was born in Everett, Ma. On September 14, 1953, the son of John and Eleanor (Woods) D’ Ambrosio of Ocala, Florida and was raised and resided in Peabody most of his life before moving to Beverly. He was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1971. He had been in the construction and real estate development business on the North Shore until his illness 8 years ago. He was an an established pool player. He had coached in the Peabody Youth Soccer League for 17 seasons having won a Championship. He also served as a Constable in Peabody from 1991 to 1995 and was involved in Cub Scouts serving as Cub Leader for Pack 8 at the Carroll School, Peabody for 10 years. He enjoyed camping, Flea Marketing and Golf. Surviving him besides his parents are a son, Kenneth Clark of Cambridge, Ma. 3 brothers, Lynn Fire Chief Edward Higgins of Lynn, Paul Higgins of Peru, Indiana, and John D’ Ambrosio of No. Reading, Ma., 3 sisters, his caretaker Mary Picanco and her companion, Ken Wills both of Beverly, Debbie Boles of Miami, Fl., and Rita Wells of No. Andover, his longtime companion, Karleen Duggan and her sons, Danny & Kevin Duggan all of Salem, 2 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including John and Joseph Cleveland of Beverly. His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill- Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody, location, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 11:00 A.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
