Obituary of Wayne Paul Daffe

Wayne Paul Daffe, 25, of Salem, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the NSMC Salem Hospital as a result of a heroin overdose after 2 years of sobriety. Another victim of the opioid epidemic that is taking more than 100 lives a day in America. Wayne was born in Salem, on March 17, 1992. He was the son of Paul Daffe of Salem and Lisa M. Connors of Peabody. He was raised in Salem and Peabody and was 2010 graduate of PVMHS. He also attended NSCC and was currently living in Salem. He was presently employed as a landscaping designer at Arrowhead Landscaping of Danvers. Beginning at an early age Wayne loved drawing which eventually led to being an accomplished artist and tattoo artist. Wayne was an outdoorsman where he enjoyed snowboarding and skateboarding, longboard and boating. In addition to Wayne’s parents he is survived by a sister Jillian R. Daffe of Peabody, his maternal grandparents Donna R. McDuff and Gerard G. “Mac” McDuff of FL and his paternal grandmother Marie Daffe of Salem; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from all over. He was also predeceased by his paternal grandfather Joseph R. “Bob” Daffe. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, July 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn Street, Peabody. His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. from the funeral home on Tuesday, July 18th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 260 North Street, Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made in memory of Wayne Daffe to the Family Resource Center, MassGen for Children at NSMC, 4th floor, 57 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970 for the Learn to Cope (for families learning how to support their child’s recovery)or GRASP (grief after substance passing) programs.
