Obituary of Frank Schettino

Frank Schettino, 88, of Peabody and formerly of Chelsea, died Tuesday evening at the Pilgrim Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Katherine (Kelleher) Schettino. Born in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Amorello) Schettino. He was raised and educated in Chelsea, attended Chelsea schools and lived in Chelsea until his retirement in 1981. He has lived in Peabody for the past 23 years. He was a veteran of World War II, who served with the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement, he worked at a coating manufacturing company as a foreman, for Raffi and Swanson based in Wilmington, for over 36 years. He also enjoyed golfing, cooking, gardening, walking and was an avid sports fan of all of Boston’ s professional sports teams. He is survived by a son, Frank Schettino, Jr., of Peabody; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Marie and Robert DiNapoli of Tewksbury; a sister, Jane Goode of Chelsea, and a grandson, Bret M. Schettino of Tewksbury, and is also survived by a niece and four nephews. He was the brother of the late James Schettino, Nancy Odoardi, Louise Simmons, and Ann Schettino. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 4 until 8 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
