Obituary of Emmanuel C. Veliskakis
Peabody, October 22, 2003. Emmanuel C. Veliskakis, 59, of Peabody, died suddenly Wednesday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Ivonne (Luppi) Veliskakis who was recently married on August 10, 2003.
Born in Cairo Egypt, he was the son of the late Costas and Marigo (Xenas) Veliskakis and the stepson of the late Katherine (Parianos) Veliskakis. He was raised and educated in Greece before immigrating to the United States in 1960 and has been resident of Peabody since that time.
He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a cabinetmaker for Samos Cabinet Shop and later as an independent, carpenter/contractor, all in Peabody.
He is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, James and Calie Veliskakis of Peabody and George Veliskakis of San Diego, Cal., and two nephews, Alex Veliskakis of San Diego Cal., and Nick Veliskakis of Peabody and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 5 until 8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
