Obituary of Lauren M. Geraghty

Lauren M. Geraghty, 46, of Arlington, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 3, 2017. She was born in Salem, MA and was raised in Peabody, MA, and was the daughter of Bruce D. and Barbara V. (Quinlan) Geraghty. Lauren graduated from Northern Essex College with a degree in Art Illustration and also graduated from Framingham State College with a B.A. in Fine Art Graphic Design. She was an artist and active member of the Arlington Center of the Arts since 2002 and had several solo exhibitions in the Tufts Street Gallery. She participated in Arlington Open Studios for many years and was a freelance consultant who worked for numerous non-profit organizations on art related projects. Lauren was a member of Very Special Arts Massachusetts where she sat on the Open Gallery Committee. Lauren is survived by her parents of Peabody, her sisters, Lisa Geraghty and partner Alp Sari of Topsfield, Cassandra Wilfert and her husband Caleb Wilfert of Methuen and her nieces Ayla, Sophie and Emma. She also leaves her devoted friend, Daniel Lewis of Arlington and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was born with a severe form of Osteogenesis Imperfecta and depended on her wheelchair for mobility but her spirit was absolutely joyful and she lived each day to the fullest. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 19,2017 at 11:00AM at the Austin Square Baptist Church, 10 Keslar Ave., Lynn, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
