Obituary of Mary M. (Laubner) Gambale

Mary M. (Laubner) Gambale, 48, of Windham, NH and formerly of Swampscott, died peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at her residence with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Michael S. Gambale with whom she shared 28 years of marriage. She was born in Salem, MA on November 4, 1968, the daughter of Robert Laubner and the late Mary (Dunn) Laubner of Swampscott. Mary was raised in Swampscott, graduating from Swampscott High School in 1986. She later graduated from Salem State University in 1992 and, while residing in Florida, received her Master’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University. Mary had been an English teacher in Kutztown, PA and later in Broward County, Florida and then returned to Massachusetts where she taught at Malden Catholic High School. She recently became a Program Director for the Young Parent Program for Catholic Charities in Lowell, prior to her illness. Mary enjoyed camping with her family at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, traveling and taking cruises, and was an avid reader. She had a love for animals and was a fan of rock ‘n’ roll. As a teacher, Mary dedicated her life to inspiring young people to achieve their potential and make a better life for themselves. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Michael of Windham, NH, her father, Robert of Swampscott, a son, Fredric Gambale of Orlando, FL, a daughter, Justine Gambale of Salem, MA, her sister-in-law, Ganine Gambale and her wife Theresa Kelly of Bradley Beach, N.J. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 82 Lynn St., Peabody from 2:00 until 4 PM and 7:00 until 9 PM. Her funeral will be held on Friday, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 173 Humphrey St., Swampscott at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home and donations may be sent to Windham's Helping Hands, P.O. Box 4073. Windham NH 03087.
