Obituary of Marie S (Masotta) Di Chiara
Marie S Di Chiara, 85, of Florida and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully Tuesday morning at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of George J DiChiara with whom she shared over 67 years of marriage. Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late John and Constance (Napolitano) Masotta. She was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School, class of 1950. She had lived in Peabody for over 60 years before moving to Florida three years ago. After high school, Marie attended beauty school and was a hair dresser for a few years and upon having her children, she stayed home to be a mom to not only her children, but to the neighborhood children as well. Marie enjoyed roller skating, playing miniature golf, bowling, and she a zest for life who enjoyed laughing and being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She loved them dearly. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her five children, Deborah Muse of Farmington, ME, Dorothy Rucinski of Jay, ME, Wayne Di Chiara of Palmetto, FL, Donna Barden of Rochester, NH, and Christine Di Chiara of Payson, AZ, her sister, Carol Devito of Saugus, her brother, John Masotta of Billerica, and is also survived by her beloved 7 grandchildren, Tara, Kristie, Amanda, Michelle, Samantha, Wayne Jr, and Nicholas. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 AM until 12 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Celebration of her life at 12:00 PM to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
