Obituary of Frederick A. McDonough Jr,

Frederick A. McDonough Jr., 79, of Peabody, MA died peacefully Tuesday, August 22,2017 at the Lahey Medical Center, Burlington with his family at his side. He was the husband of Rachelle “Rae” (Rosato) Mc Donough with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He was born in Brighton, MA, on December 26, 1937, the son of the late Frederick A. and Una J. (Linehan) McDonough and was raised in Waltham, MA graduating from St. Mary’s High School. He then entered the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, Fred entered Northeastern University and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in engineering. Fred had been a Vice President of Construction for the NATGUN Corp. in Wakefield, MA for 30 years and traveled extensively throughout the islands prior to his retirement 15 years ago. He had been a member of the Ashrae water engineering society. Fred had been a pilot and loved flying his Cessna aircraft out of Beverly airport. He loved to travel to different parts of the world and enjoyed taking cruises with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Rae, a son and daughter-in-law, Atty. Sean and Lisa McDonough of North Andover, his precious grandchildren, Emilie and Christopher McDonough of No. Andover, a nephew Conrad Aleckna of Middleton and a niece, Adrien Aleckna of Peabody. He was the half-brother of the late Edward Kinchla. A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St John’s Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
