Obituary of Nicholas Bulyga

Nicholas Bulyga, 91, of Peabody died peacefully on Thursday August 24, 2017 at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Peabody after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of 64 years to the late Katherine A. (Danish) Bulyga who died last year. He was born in Woonsocket, R.I. on August 20, 1926, the son of the late Sidor and Esther (Sweeter) Bulyga and was raised in Salem, MA graduating from Salem High School. He then entered the US Army during WW II and upon his discharge in 1946, he enrolled at Bentley College where he received a bachelor degree in accounting. He had been an accountant at the Mason Tannery in Salem and later at the Kings Grant Restaurant in Danvers prior to his retirement twenty-five years ago. Nicholas enjoyed doing gardening both in vegetables and flowers and liked taking trips to Lake George New York and Foxwood Casino in Ct., He also took many trips with his wife with the Peabody Council on Aging excursions. He is survived by a daughter, Carol A. Hurley of Peabody, his grandsons, Michael and his wife Mary Hurley of Woburn and David Hurley of Port Jefferson, Long Island, NY and many cousins. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St. Peabody facility. His funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
