Obituary of Leo John "Jack" O'Brien, III

Leo John “Jack” O’Brien, III HAVERHILL – Leo John “Jack” O’Brien, III, 54, beloved husband of Linda (Blackwell) O’Brien, died peacefully on Friday August 25, 2017 at the Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, following a brief illness. Born in Boston on August 24, 1963, he was the son of Rosemary (Jacques) O’Brien of Holyoke and the late Leo J. O’Brien, Jr. He grew up in Peabody where he attended local schools, and graduated from North Shore Regional Vocational High School. He spent most of his career in the field of food production, preparation and service, most recently at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers. Jack was a communicant at St. Ann’s Church in Peabody. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Leo Council 508 of Peabody and volunteered as a Caller at Bingo there. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his daughter. He enjoyed his friends and liked watching movies. He was devoted to his Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife Linda O’Brien of Danvers, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage; a daughter Kayla O’Brien of Danvers; his mother Rosemary O’Brien of Holyoke, formerly of Peabody; a sister Mary Rodowicz and her husband Joel of Chicopee; a niece, Kathleen Rodowicz, and nephew, Brian Rodowicz both of Chicopee, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. There will be no calling hours, but relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11 AM on Friday Sepember 1, 2017 at St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations in Jack’s memory may be made to either the Lakeview House Nursing Home, P.O. Box 1598, 87 Shattuck St., Haverhill, MA 01830 or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
