Obituary of Dorothy Marion Collibee
Dorothy M (Elvey) Collibee, 98, of Salem, died Friday morning at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Herbert Collibee, Sr Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Saunders) Elvey. She was raised and educated in Maine and later lived in Chelsea, Everett, Salem and has spent the last 5 years living in Danvers. Dorothy was employed as a dietician for over 25 years at Salem Hospital before retiring many years ago. She loved her church, friends, bowling, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Herbert S Collibee Jr and Carol of Peabody, and her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael McCarthy of Peabody, her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Collibee and is also survived by her beloved 7 grandchildren, David, Michael, Donald, and Scott Collibee, Donna Sawyer, James Hogan, and Kellie Vail, her 10 great grandchildren, Kayla, William, Christopher, Courtney, Isaac, Alana Collibee, Tyler and Zach Sawyer, Dianna Hogan, and Chloe Vail. She was predeceased by her son Donald E. Collibee. Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held later this week at Greenlawn Cemetery in Salem.
