Obituary of Roger Adelbert Tietsch

Roger Adelbert Tietsch, 72, of Lynnfield, died Monday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness. He was the husband of Joan (Verrastro) Tietsch with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. He was born and raised in New Haven Ct, the son of the late Adelbert and Marie (Meyer) Tietsch . He first attended New Haven University for 2 years before entering the US Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge he graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Engineering. He began his career with the Raytheon Company in Massachusetts working in the Missle Systems Division and worked on the Patriot Missile that was used in the Dessert Storm conflict prior to his retirement in 1995. He was an avid Stamp Collector, and enjoyed playing Bridge and reading books. He also loved to Travel . Following his retirement, he maintained a consulting business with the Department of Defense. Surviving him besides his wife are a son, Alexander Robert Tietsch of East Providence, RI, a brother-in-law, William Verrastro of Walcott, Ct, 2 nephews, William and Joseph Verrastro both of Ct.. Services will be held on Friday at 11:30 AM at the family lot in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
