Obituary of Anthony R. Porcello

Anthony R Porcello, 84, of Peabody, died Thursday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Edna (Trask) Porcello with whom he shared over 64 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Molina) Porcello. He was raised and educated in Salem and has lived in Peabody for past 58 years. Anthony served during the Korean War with the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after serving for four years. Following his discharge from the military, he moved to Peabody. Anthony was employed in the retail industry as a store manager for many companies on the North Shore, including at the former A&P, Franklin Foods, Ann & Hope, and Ann & Hope Garden Shop before retiring 6 years ago. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Anthony R Porcello, II of Florida, Robert C Porcello of Salem, his four daughters, Phyliss Mowry, Leah Porcello, both of Peabody, Arleen and her husband Salvatore Passanisi of Tewksbury, and Susan Porcello of Peabody, his brother, Peter Porcello of Salem, two sisters, Theresa Bennett of Danvers, Catherine Fish of Osterville, his sister-in-law, Norma and her husband Robert Ronan of Youngsville, NC, and is also survived by his granddaughter, Keeley Porcello of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Caesar, Joseph, Rudolph, William, Edward, Mary, and Rita Porcello, and Emily Quirk. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
