Obituary of Eleonora (Mongiello) Chase
Eleonora (Mongiello) Chase PEABODY – Eleonora (Mongiello) Chase, 98, beloved wife of the late George Chase, Sr., died peacefully at her home on Saturday September 9, 2017, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late John and Concetta (Corrado) Mongiello. She grew up in East Boston where she attended schools. She lived in Saugus for over 40 years, and in Peabody for the last 15 years. Mrs. Chase worked at General Electric in Lynn for several years, besides nurturing her family. Eleonora, known affectionately as “Helen”, enjoyed watching Boston sports teams like the Bruins and the Red Sox. The family wishes to thank All Care Hospice for their compassionate care during her illness. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George & Phyllis Chase of Peabody; three grandchildren, David Chase of Beverly, Debra Fawcett & her husband Tim of Peabody, and John Chase of Peabody; three great-grandchildren, Emily Chase, Tyler Fawcett, and Shawn Chase; two sisters-in-law Mary Caliri of North Reading and Gladys Chase of North Andover, and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Angelo Mongiello. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday September 13, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
