Obituary of Eleanor F (Curran) Dembowski

Eleanor F (Curran) Dembowski, 92, of Peabody, died Thursday morning at her home with her family by her side following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Mitchell B Dembowski with whom she shared over 52 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Donahue) Curran. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School and Hathorne School of Business. She was employed for over 35 years by the city of Peabody School Department as a personal and confidential secretary to many superintendents of schools. She retired in 2003. She was a member of the Beverly Cove improvement association, Peabody council on Aging, and the PT boat Auxiliary as well. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. Dembowski and Hiroko Kunitake of Lincoln, her daughter-in-law, Susan Dembowski-Skolnick of Dracut, and by her three grandchildren, Devon, Brandon, and Ceara Dembowski, all of Dracut. She was predeceased by her son Mitchell Dembowski and her sister Phyllis Davidson. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
