Obituary of Maria C. (Pace) Jones

Maria C. (Pace) Jones, 88, of South Peabody, died early Thursday morning September 14, 2017 at the Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Carl L. Jones Sr. with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Maria was born in Calabria, Italy on October 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Leo and Maria (Froio) Pace and was raised in Italy before coming to the United States and resided in East Boston. After her marriage to Carl, they had resided in South Peabody for the past 50 years and were members of St. Ann’s Church. Maria had enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden and was a nurturer to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Carl Sr., of Peabody, and four children, Carl and his wife Laura Jones Jr. and Linda and her husband Frank Ragusa all of Hamilton, Cathy Slaven of Salem, MA and Joe Jones of Ohio, twelve grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM.
